Modern Media Console: Rough Cuts & Layout

I’ve begun breaking down the lumber into the rough parts. The biggest challenge so far has been resawing the big, heavy 8/4 maple board which will be used for the case. There was quite a bit of tension in the board and there was a lot of spring back after I cut it apart. Unfortunately, I had to cut in down into smaller pieces to be able to get it all flat before glueing up the panels which makes diminishes the waterfall grain effect a little. Even with this setback, all of the panels came out flat and the book matched grain is still really good. I also got started on the joinery and I was able to get the tails cut on the side boards.
