Highlights
This checker board is made of multiple species to provide contrast and interest, as well as to make the checkered pattern. Walnut and maple were used for the checkers and are framed in cherry with walnut and maple stringing. The case is made of cherry with a floating panel in the bottom and walnut splines to add strength to the mitered corners. The base received an ornate profile mimicking the shapes found in chess pieces.

Game boards of all kinds are available, so if chess and checkers isn’t you go to game, consider another gaming board.
