Highlights
This oak executive’s desk makes a statement in any room. With clean lines, repetitive, simple elements and a large work surface, this desk is ready for work with plenty of room to spare.
I would categorize this piece as mission style as it emphasizes solid craftsmanship and is without a lot of frills. The cabinets and privacy panel are basic frame and panels made with tongue and groove construction. The panels are flat, solid wood which adds to quality of the piece. Most of the panels have a matching mate since they were resawed from a single board. This adds to the symmetry of the piece which really catches your eye.
The drawers are poplar with plywood bottoms are joined with a drawer lock joint (or 1/4×1/4×1/4 as some people call it). This is an extremely strong joint that will last the life of the desk. The drawers ride on soft close under mount slides for smooth, quiet operation.
The solid wood top is 34” deep and 72” wide for a ton of work space. Two power supply grommets in the top provide easy acces to power and charging.
This piece was finished with Rubio Monocoat’s Chocolate oil plus2c for a finish that provides excellent water resistance and is easy to maintain.
